Maple Build was established with a dream of empowering and developing people to live life more abundantly.

We have recently wrapped up our formal partnership with Habitat for Humanity where we supported families in the pacific and Nepal into home ownership through the Home for a Home scheme. We still informally support the work that Habitat for Humanity are doing both locally and overseas and would encourage others to also get involved.

If you are interested in partnering with us as an individual, business or organisation, give us a call!

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY AIMS TO GIVE PEOPLE IN  NEW ZEALAND AND AROUND THE WORLD A CHANCE OF A SIMPLE, DECENT HOME.

Global Village

Through Global Village, Maple Build and Habitat for Humanity New Zealand make it possible for low-income families in overseas countries to own a decent home. Our partner families are involved in building their own house (what we call ‘sweat equity’) alongside our volunteers, and make affordable payments to own their home. Rather than providing a hand-out, we provide a hand-up. With the participation of volunteers, Habitat For Humanity continues to alleviate poverty housing around the world.

For families who are determined to break out of poverty, the Global Village programme enables them to build a better future. For children, a new home offers a chance to grow and thrive in surroundings that are safe. A place to live where they are sheltered from bad weather, fall sick less, go to school more regularly, and get to enjoy childhood. For volunteers, it is the meaningful experience of building and interacting with Habitat partner families. Global Village promotes a sense of goodwill, seeing a fellow human have a decent place to live.

Once the Global Village program is back up and running, Maple Build will work towards participating as volunteers.

Home for a Home

The Home for a Home scheme supports Habitat’s work across the Pacific and in Nepal, countries where Habitat partners with communities and families to deliver pathways to permanent shelter. During our time in the scheme, Maple Build donated the cost of an overseas Habitat home for each new home we built in New Zealand. These contributions enable Habitat to continue partnering with families and communities in need of more decent shelter overseas.
